DESCRIPTION:Manfred Mann (* 21. Oktober 1940 in Johannesburg) ist ein aus Südafrika stammender Musiker, der auch durch die von ihm gegründete Manfred Mann’s Earth Band bekannt ist. In seiner Jugend lernte Manfred Mann Klavierspielen und studierte später klassische Musik an der Witwatersrand-Universität. Seit 1961 in Grossbritannien nahm er mit seiner Band bekannte Hits wie „My Name is Jack“, „Fox on the Run“ und „Ha! Ha! Said the Clown“ und „Do Wah Diddy Diddy“ auf. Manfred Mann ist aber auch bekannt für Cover-Versionen wie „If You Got To Go, Go Now“, „Just Like a Woman“, „Mighty Quinn“, „Spirits in the Night“, „For You“ und „Blinded by the light“.
